Another one gone, sad times.Sad

Me Mam & Dad used to go there for their tea a few years back, reckoned the food was top class and a good price, was quiet though.

Really is sadening to see so many pubs & clubs closing down.
You can take the lad out of Jarrow but you can't take Jarrow out of the lad.

I'm one of Christines three sons and you are right that her Mum / my Grandma had the Allison Arms in the 60's and into the early 70's. Grandma was called Louie and was originally from Scarborough although she lived in Jarrow for years and also ran other pubs in the town. She ran them with her partner (they never married) Thomas Reid who was previously a butcher and I think had a shop in Monkton Village.
