River Don today
There were hundreds of black headed gulls here at 1-30pm today. The picture only shows a small section. From the bridge to the tyne was covered with them, there must have been a plentiful supply of food for them.

I was there in the morning and counted 109, along with 4 Curlew and a Mute Swan.
