Jim Lawlor grew up in Tynemouth Road, later moving to Witham Green and started his first job at Reyrolles. He travelled to Ndola, Zambia and Jamaica and settled in the Bahamas. He is President of the Bahamas Historical Society and has two books in print with his wife. The Paradise Island Story 2nd edition and more recently the Harbour Island Story. Both are historical narratives of the respective islands.

Derek Minto was still teaching at Springfield Comprehensive when I left there in 1988.
